Bringing Home Your Bully Puppy: A First Week Survival Guide

Your new puppy is home — now what? Here's everything you need to know about the first seven days with your new American Bully.

Congratulations — your new family member is home! The first week is exciting but it's also a critical adjustment period. Here's how to set your puppy up for success from day one.

Set up a designated space before the puppy arrives. A crate with a comfortable bed, water bowl, and a few toys gives them a safe home base. Our puppies are already introduced to crate training, so this should feel familiar to them.

Keep things calm for the first 48 hours. We know you want to show off your new puppy to everyone, but give them time to decompress and bond with your immediate family first. Introduce new people and environments gradually over the first week.

Stick to the feeding schedule we provide. Abrupt food changes can cause digestive issues. If you want to switch foods later, do it gradually over 7-10 days by mixing the new food with the old. And always have fresh water available.

Schedule a vet visit within the first week. Even though our puppies come with health records and vaccination history, establishing a relationship with your own veterinarian early is important. Bring all the paperwork we send home with you.

Most importantly — reach out to us if you have ANY questions. We offer lifetime breeder support because we know the first few weeks can be overwhelming. No question is too small. We're here for you and your puppy, always.
